ITER Events

The ITER Organization plans several outreach events every year. Click on the links below for more information on upcoming events.

The Local Commission for Information (CLI) for ITER is holding a participatory public exchange on ITER on 28 November 2019 in Aix-en-Provence, France. This independent body acts as an interface between the ITER Organization and the local population for questions of nuclear safety, radioprotection and the installation's impact on personnel and the environment. The ITER Organization and the French Nuclear Safety Agency (ASN) provide the ITER CLI with any information necessary to the exercise of its mission. The group, which meets regularly, is composed of representatives from local government, environmental groups, trade unions, businesses and health professionals.

At the municipal library in Aix-en-Provence, ITER will take part in a cultural event called SPACE CAMP, celebrating 50 years of spatial conquest and the digital environment. With a variety of virtual reality tools, ITER will present fusion science, the Tokamak machine, and current construction status on site.

The second edition of 'Extraordinary Factories' will take place in Marseille, France, from 14 to 16 November 2019. The event is free of charge and open to the public. The ITER Project will be present with a large stand at the three-day exposition, which aims to change the public's perception of "big industry" by highlighting technological innovation, excellence, discovery, and ... exciting careers.

The ITER Business Forum (IBF/19) will be organized in Antibes, France, from 26 to 28 March 2019.

Organized by Agence Iter France—with the participation of the ITER Organization, the European Domestic Agency Fusion for Energy, and other Domestic Agencies—the event offers business representatives the opportunity to: learn more about ITER business opportunities, create partnerships with other industries inside and outside of Europe, partner with fusion laboratories. Registration opens mid-November at the address below.

The ITER International School aims to prepare young scientists/engineers for work in the field of nuclear fusion and in research applications associated with the ITER Project. The 10th edition will be held from 21 to 25 January in Daejeon, Korea, on the topic of "The Physics and Technology of Power Flux Handling in Tokamaks."
