ITER Events

The ITER Organization plans several outreach events every year. Click on the links below for more information on upcoming events.

The travelling European exhibition the Fusion Expo moves into Aix-en-Provence (only 30 minutes from ITER) in November 2012. With accessible explanations on fusion science, ITER and the next category of fusion device—the fusion power plant—the Expo is designed for the general public, students, and school groups.
On Saturday 6 October 2012, ITER will once again open its doors to the public. This second edition will offer the unique opportunity to descend into the foundations of the future Tokamak Complex and get a close-up view of the 493 pillars and seismic pads.

The first ITER Robot contest will be organized on 19 June 2012 for junior high schools interested in raising the following challenge: building and programing small Lego robots to perform an ITER-like remote handling task.

The second edition of the ITER Games, the friendly sports competition for people working on the ITER project and residents of Saint Paul-lez-Durance and Vinon-sur-Verdon, will be organized on 15 September 2012 in Vinon.
