Terms of use

The ITER Terms of Use apply to all elements contained within the ITER Organization website (information, logos, images, etc.). Warning or information messages may also complement these provisions where such a message is attached to the information provided.
 

1. Use of website

The use of this website constitutes agreement with the following terms and conditions:

(a) The ITER Organization administers this website (the "Site"). All material on this site from the ITER Organization appears subject to the present terms and conditions.

(b) The ITER Organization maintains this website as a courtesy to those who may choose to access it ("User" or "Users"). The information presented herein is for informative purposes only. The ITER Organization grants permission to Users to visit the Site and to download and copy the information, provided it is not amended in any way. Documents and materials (collectively "Materials") from the Site are for the User's personal, non-commercial use, without any right to resell or redistribute them or to compile or create derivative works therefrom, and provided that the ITER Organization copyright is acknowledged. Use is subject to the terms and conditions outlined below, and to the more specific restrictions that may apply to specific Material within this Site.

(c) Unless expressly stated otherwise, the findings, interpretations and conclusions expressed in the Materials on this Site are those of the various ITER Organization staff members, Domestic Agency staff members, advisers and visitors who prepared the work and do not necessarily represent the views of the ITER Organization or its Members.

(d) The ITER Organization reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time.

2. Disclaimer

The ITER Organization maintains this Site to enhance public access to information about the ITER Project and fusion energy in general. The goal of the ITER Organization is to keep this information timely and accurate. Materials provided on this Site are provided "as is." The ITER Organization makes every effort to ensure, but does not guarantee, the accuracy or completeness of the information on the ITER Organization Site. If errors are brought to its attention, the ITER Organization will take them into consideration.

The ITER Organization may add, change, improve, or update the information available on the Site without notice. The ITER Organization reserves its exclusive right in its sole discretion to alter, limit or discontinue part of this Site. Under no circumstances shall the ITER Organization be liable for any loss, damage, liability or expense suffered which is claimed to result from use of this Site, including without limitation, any fault, error, omission, interruption or delay. Use of this Site is at User's sole risk and responsibility.

Users should note:

  • that this information is of a general nature only and is not intended to address the specific circumstances of any particular individual or entity;

If the User is dissatisfied with any Material on this Site or with any of its terms and conditions, the User's sole and exclusive remedy is to discontinue using the Site.

The ITER Organization shall have no obligation to take the needs of any User into consideration in connection therewith.

The ITER Organization reserves the right to deny at its sole discretion any User access to this Site or any portion thereof without notice.

No waiver by the ITER Organization of any provision of these terms and conditions shall be binding except as set forth in writing and signed by its duly authorized representative.

3. Security

For Site security purposes, and to ensure that this service remains available to all Users, all network traffic is monitored in order to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage or conduct criminal activity.

To protect the system from unauthorized use and to ensure that the system is functioning properly, individuals using this computer system are subject to having all of their activities monitored and recorded by system personnel.

Anyone using this system expressly consents to such monitoring and is advised that if such monitoring reveals evidence of possible abuse or criminal activity. System personnel may provide the results of such monitoring to appropriate officials.

Unauthorized attempts to upload or change information on this Site are strictly prohibited and may be punishable.

4. Preservation of privileges and immunities

As an international organization, ITER Organization's name and logo are protected under Article 6ter of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property of 1883 (1967 Stockholm Act).
