The successfully terminated function testing of the last of seventy magnet coils all together now marks the completion of the scientific and technological key component assembly for the Wendelstein 7-X fusion experiment. The more-than-man-sized superconducting coils will produce the magnetic cage for confining the hot fusion plasma. The Wendelstein 7-X research device is now being built at the Greifswald branch of Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics.
