Homi Bhabha—Scientist, visionary, dreamer

"I know quite clearly what I want out of my life," Homi Bhabha once said. Today, 30 October, is the 100th anniversary of the famous scientist, visionary and dreamer's birth. Bhabha was an early prophet of the peaceful uses of the atom, and he presided the First UN Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy. Bhabha died in the Mont Blanc plane crash on 24 January, 1966, the day Indira Gandhi was sworn in as Prime Minister.
