Assembling a million-component machine

The ITER Tokamak consists of 15 major sub-systems, some 300 very large elements—1,200 tonnes for the heaviest of them—and approximately one million components. Such a complex machine, says Robert Shaw in this video interview, "has never been done before."

So let's join ITER's Machine Assembly & Installation Section Leader as he explains how to assemble this unique million-component machine, and presents the tools that will make this task possible.
