50 shades of grey and a bit of yellow
For close to 20 months, since concrete pouring began in August 2011, grey was the dominant colour in the Tokamak Seismic Pit. With propping and formwork operations progressing fast, grey is receding, being replaced by the bright yellow of the formwork beams. This spectacular change in colour, however is only temporary: soon, the whole surface will be covered with dark brown plywood and dense steel rebar to prepare for the "B2 slab" pouring.
