A Local Information Commission (Commission locale d'information, or CLI) was created in 2009 for ITER in application of the 2006 French law on Transparency and Nuclear Security. It functioned independently until 2014, when it was reunited with the CLI Cadarache by decision of the President of the Bouches-du-Rhône (département) Council.
