Description

Purpose/Scope
To provide engineering analyses, calculations, and documents for the following main tasks:

• Activation and contamination analyses;
• Radiological maps;
• Incident and accident analyses and related I&C safety functions;
• Compliance with the pressure equipment and nuclear pressure equipment directive;
• Verification and qualification to functions, requirements, and loads.

1 year (with possibility of extension up to 4 years）

List of activities to be performed

For all the main tasks identified above the following activities should be performed:

• Contribute to the preparation of the methodological approach
• Consolidate the input data with the responsible officer
• Assess the computational codes and their maturity for nuclear engineering and nuclear safety analyses
• Perform the calculations and the analyses consistently with the scope of work
• Prepare reports engineering analyses documentation
• Compute and assess the radiological exposure of personnel and equipment
• Contribute to the review of related design documentation produced by others

Specific requirements and conditions

• Master's degree or equivalent in nuclear engineering
• At least 5 years of working experience in a relevant field
• Experience in engineering analyses and nuclear safety analyses and demonstration
• Experience in preparing reports and justification documents combining several engineering and nuclear safety disciplines, activation, contamination, radiological exposure, etc.
• Knowledge of the nuclear pressure equipment regulation under the French contest
• Knowledge of the nuclear safety regulations applicable to the French nuclear facility.

Paid by the HI, but under certain conditions as defined in the ITER Project Associates Scheme, IO could provide support

Description

Purpose/Scope

To provide engineering analyses, calculations, and documents for the following main tasks:

• Definition of the port cells equipment installation and replacement sequence of operations
• Design and development, including mock-up and testing, of the equipment and means to ensure the reconfiguration of Test Banket Systems (TBS) in the port cells during Long Term Maintenance
• Definition and design of the virtual and physical mock-ups
• Definition of the tasks to be executed in the Tokamak building and in the hot cell facilities for the reconfiguration of the TBS

List of activities to be performed

Definition of the port cells equipment installation and replacement sequence of operations:

• Define the sequence of operations
• Define interfaces between installation & replacement equipment and TBS components
• Identify the components that require to be handled and define associated interfaces
• Define the type of operations to be performed (task specification) and associated resources
• Estimate the time required for the interventions
• Estimate the Occupational Radiation Exposure and implement ALARA with appropriate measures

Design and development, including mock-up and testing, of the equipment and means to ensure the reconfiguration of test banket systems (TBS) in the port cells during Long Term Maintenance:

• Identify the requirements associated with the set of equipment and means to ensure the reconfiguration of TBS in the port cells
• Define and design required workstations, tools to perform the connexions/disconnections operations, tools to manage the required loads handling and transportation
• Identify load cases and contribute to the load specification document during installation/replacement operations
• To develop and write interfaces between port cell common equipment and associated maintenance tooling
• Contribute to the updates of the associated design description documents
• Support the mechanical design with engineering verification assessments against criteria defined in regulations and codes (such as codes for cranes and lifting equipment, Eurocodes, RCC-MRx)

Definition and design of the virtual and physical mock-ups

• Perform Virtual Reality simulation of the sequence of operations in support of components and tooling design
• Contribute to the physical mock-ups in support of the R&D for the development of the operation development (tools prototype, welding trials, flanged quick connections development)
• Initiate the design of the scale one training facility in support of future port cells operations

Definition of the tasks to be executed in the Tokamak building and in the hot cell facilities for the reconfiguration of the TBS

• Identify the requirements associated with the set of equipment and means to perform the inspection maintenance and reconfiguration tasks in the hot cell
• Define and design required workstations, tools to inspection maintenance and reconfiguration tasks in the hot cell
• Identify load cases and contribute to the load specification document during installation/replacement operations
• To develop and write interfaces between port cell common equipment and associated maintenance tooling in the hot cell
• Contribute to the updates of the associated design description documents
• Support the mechanical design with engineering verification assessments against criteria defined in regulations and codes (such as codes for cranes and lifting equipment, Eurocodes, RCC-MRx)

Specific requirements and conditions

• Master's degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering
• At least 5 years of working experience in a relevant field
• Experience in design in complex environments under hash conditions including maintenance implementation
• Experience in producing design descriptions and justification documents for a system combining several engineering disciplines (mechanical, thermal, nuclear, pressure equipment, maintenance)
• Knowledge of the ALARA approach
• Knowledge of remotely operated maintenance using teleoperation techniques for nuclear environments
• Sufficient knowledge of regulations and design criteria for nuclear and non-nuclear components (such as RCC-MRx, codes for cranes and lifting equipment, Eurocodes)

Financial aspects

Paid by the HI, but under certain conditions as defined in the ITER Project Associates Scheme, IO could provide support. In addition, the IPA may be provided with a monthly Living Adjustment Allowance according to the place of origin, in line with IPA regulations.
