Description

Purpose/Scope:

The IPA is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of mechanical activities in SmartPlant for Operators (SPO) for the Machine Assembly Program, which includes the review and coordination of document approval, follow-up of progress with the contractor, arrangement of walk-downs, and preparation of Mechanical Completion Certificates.

List of activities:

1. Supports IO technical responsible officer (TRO) and works with IO external contractors: Processes monitoring for completion activities on Machine Assembly main contracts for Sector Module Sub-Assembly (SMSA), Tokamak Assembly Contracts (TAC-1), and Sector Module Assembly in Pit (SMPA).
2. Supports on-site activities if needed (TBD), and inspections associated with Engineering Work Packages (EWPs).
3. Reviews Completion Documents: Reviews and/ or approves completion documents, including Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Lists of Construction Objects (LCOs), Mechanical Completion Work Packages (MCWPs),Mechanical Completion Dossiers (MCDs), As-Constructed documents, and other related documents.
4. Registers Tagged Items: Consolidates LCOs and registers tagged items in the SPO system with support from IT before the Pre-Inspection Meeting (PIM).
5. Creates Dashboards: Participates in establishing dashboards with IT for system completion-related activities.
6. Coordinates Walk-Downs: Coordinates walk-downs with IO and external contractors to identify and register punch list items.
7. Registers Inspection and Test Record (ITR) Templates:
8. Coordinates with external contractors and registers ITR templates in SPO for new contracts.
9. Prepares Mechanical Completion Certificate: Prepares Mechanical Completion Certificates (MCCs) upon approval of MCDs and share with the IO TRO for approval.
10. MCD compilation: Reviews the chapters of MCD and performs compilation using an automation tool.
    Works on any other documentation related to the assembly work execution as required which may also involve IT systems other than SmartPlant.
11. Supports specific tasks during the Machine assembly work based on ability and the nature of the dedicated work.

Experience & Profile:

Profesional Experience:
6 - 9 years

Bachelor or equivalent degree

Language Requirements:
Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Technical Competencies and Experience:

• Experience in mechanical completion, construction, commissioning or manufacturing, preferably in the nuclear industry.
• Knowledge of Smart Plant for Operators or similar Completion/ Commissioning system would be an extra advantage.
• Organised and methodical.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Good presentation skills (Dashboards).
• Ability to work effectively in a team and multicultural environment.
• Ability to work with Assembly Contractor

Specific Training to Perform the Assignment:

• Low voltage training
• Working at height training
• Scaffolding training

Specific Requirements and Conditions:
Training on SmartPlant for Operators is foreseen if no specific knowledge

Description

Purpose/Scope:

Provides support to I&C engineering activities for the Tritium Plant Project for the scope defined in the 2024 baseline. Provides support for the preparation of the design packages needed for first operations of Tritium Plant and Detritiation System supply contract.

List of activities:

Becomes broadly familiar with the types of in-plant equipment and its layout planned at ITER with assistance provided by the ITER technical officers for the Tritium Plant systems;

• E, I&C architecture diagrams, generates lists, provides coordinates for cabling diagrams and cable trays routing
• Produces and maintains instrument and signal lists
• Prepares and updates interface information in the Interface Documents with for the electrical loads and for the interface with the central control system
• Completes instrumentation information on Piping and Instrumentation diagrams as support for process engineers
• Prepares Single line diagrams for electrical distribution
• Prepares Signal loop diagrams for plant systems and supporting engineering activities for Procurement, and Construction tenders preparation
• Prepares Functional and logic diagrams
• Prepares the datasheets and specifications for instruments
• Supports preparation of technical documents for instrumentation engineering
• Inputs and maintains data in AVEVA Engineering

Experience & Profile:

• Master/Engineering degree/ equivalent
• Preferably a good Knowledge of CAD and Engineering software such as AVEVA package or similar

Description

Purpose/Scope:

Overall purpose of the assignment is to perform Electro-Mechanical installation works preparation and on-site supervision/follow-up of the activities performed by IO Contractors related to MCTB as well as cryolines and warmlines.

Activities shall be performed on-site and partly remotely, particularly the factory inspections tests and report reviews; to be adapted as per the project need.

List of activities to be performed

• Support as needed issuance of the Technical Specifications related to electro-mechanical installation works.
• Perform the review of installation documentation; installation procedures, Inspection and Test Plans, and the Installation Testing procedures issued by the Contractors. Perform factory inspections, if required.
• Ensure readiness of the aeras prior to Contractors on-site mobilisation.
• Perform on-site supervision of the installation works in his/her area of responsibility while ensuring compliance with applicable procedures and regulation.
• Follow-up and resolution of required field engineering changes and non-conformances in his/her area of responsibility.
• Issue inspection and observation reports when/if required.
• Perform supervision/surveillance of the Site Acceptance Tests, including required troubleshooting in his/her area of responsibility.
• Maintain a strong commitment to the implementation and perpetuation of the ITER Safety Program, values and ethics while ensuring Safety rates are maintained below ITER targeted rates.
• Coordinate with various entities on site to facilitate safe and uninterrupted installation work in compliance with the quality and schedule requirements.

Specific training to perform the assignment

ITER IT tools and on-site works processes — training will be provided as needed.

Specific requirements and conditions

Electro-mechanical engineer with at least 8 years' experience in engineering, installation and pre-commissioning activities (Process Plants) on large complex International Projects.

Description

Purpose/Scope

To provide support for the following as an NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) expert:

• NDE definition, assessment, and monitoring.
• NDE training development and delivery.
• Support integration with DAs, contributing to the initiative for knowledge sharing and resource optimization in the field of NDE.
• Perform quality supervision activities, in particular in the field of NDE to support IO assessment of compliance to applicable requirements.

IPA will be asked more in general also to support QMD teams in performing quality checks, including direct product inspections to check compliance with applicable Quality Requirements.

1 year (may be extended up to 4 years depending on the project needs)

List of activities to be performed

Not exhaustive list of tasks is reported here below:

Provides central Quality Assurance support and management of quality-related risks and issues.

• Advises on quality-related issues including materials, design, manufacturing, and construction.
• Supports reviews of quality plans, procedures, Deviation Requests, non-conformance reports, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)/Manufacturing Inspection Plans-(MIPs), final quality documentation, subcontractor documentation, and other quality-related documentation.
• Identifies potential non-conformance and initiates Non-Conformity (NC) based on findings, supports Non-Conformance Report (NCR) treatment, follows up, and verifies corrective and remedial actions.
• Assists in the implementation of the quality training program for ITER Organization (IO) and external personnel.
• Supports quality-related activities as directed by the Head of the QMD Division.
• Performs quality audits and evaluations of the main suppliers and contractors

Perform onsite and offsite product quality supervision and direct inspections like:

• Supports quality inspection/supervision on pre-fabrication activities in the workshop; Receiving inspections at IO site or off-site, storage conditions inspections as requested by stakeholders.

The above activities include assessment, monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on activities listed in the Inspection Plan (ITPs or MIPs) and in particular of intervention Points that have been marked up by IO.

IPA may be also requested to:

• Supports the promotion of quality culture and quality requirement propagation throughout the organization. 
• Creates and implements all necessary training material about NDE and quality requirements and activities throughout the ITER Project;
• Develops, improves, and delivery of training sessions;
• Supports Project Knowledge Management and shares
  initiative/development, including actions to enforce integration with Domestic Agencies;
• Any other activity related to the tasks assigned to Quality Assurance.

Education/ Know-How:

• Master's degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical discipline;
• Comprehensive knowledge of quality standards;
• Qualification certificates in the technical field like NDE and welding (e.g. qualification according to ISO 9712 or equivalent)
• NDE certification level 3 is desirable
• Proven experience in testing and inspection (e.g. compliance check on materials, welding, Non-Destructive Testing, leak testing, pressure testing; electrical testing; painting/coating, handling operations; packing; etc.)
• Proven experience in the fabrication and installation supervision of large and complex systems for nuclear plants or oil and gas sectors;
• Knowledge of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) code and European Norm (EN) standards is desirable.

Technical experience:

• Experience in the implementation of quality systems in the nuclear industry should be considered a strong advantage;
• Experience in writing NDE and quality procedures;
• Experience in the application of Construction /Manufacturing Quality supervision.

Social skills:

• Effective writing and verbal communication skills are essential to facilitate dialogue with a wide variety of contributors and stakeholders;
• Negotiation and communication skills to adjust communication content and style are necessary when recommending alternatives or clarifying division positions on QA to contractors;
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment;
• Ability to work in a team and to promote teamwork;
• Ability to understand, analyse, and clearly document work processes, across disciplines or departments;
• Ability to analyse various issues and resolve them in a timely manner;
