The history of fusion research in four minutes

While the ITER team is working hard on the future chapters of fusion energy, the fifth program of Inside ITER seminars embarked on a travel back in time, to the early days of fusion research. And who would have been a better tour guide than Valery Chuyanov, Deputy Director-General of the Fusion & Technology Department, whose career began in the famous Kurchatov Institute in Moscow building mirror machines. Later he was appointed Deputy Director and Head of the San Diego Joint Work Site at the outset of the ITER Engineering Design Activities and in 1999 he became Head of the Garching Joint Work Site.
