Welcome to Joe Snipes

Joseph Snipes, Senior Scientific Officer of Integrated Scenarios within the Plasma Operations Section of the Department for Fusion Science and Technology, joined ITER on 30 June. Joe, who is American but also has Italian nationality, has a PhD in Plasma Physics from the University of Texas at Austin. He held various positions in different labs, both in Europe and in the US. Before coming to ITER Joe spent 14 years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology near Boston, USA.

Joe, who just moved to Aix with his family, has two sons aged 3 and 10 and a 14 year old daughter.
